Furniture assembly in Kadıköy: what to check before the visit

1. Send product details, not just “one wardrobe”

Include the retailer, model or product number, and a link to the assembly instructions. List each item separately: a bed with storage, a chest of drawers and a sliding-door wardrobe are different jobs even if all three arrive as flat packs.

Tell the assembler whether the furniture is new, partly assembled, or being taken apart and rebuilt after a move. For reused furniture, mention missing fittings or damaged panels you already know about. Photograph the current condition rather than assuming a new-product assembly price applies.

Check the delivery list before confirming the appointment. If an item comes in several packages, one box arriving does not necessarily mean the full item is there.

2. Check the room and the delivery route

Measure the intended space and compare it with the product dimensions. Include the ceiling height for tall furniture and note skirting boards, sockets, radiators and door swings near the proposed position. The instructions may specify assembly clearance beyond the finished dimensions.

• Can the boxes reach the room where the furniture will be assembled?
• Is there enough clear floor space to lay out parts?
• Will doors and drawers open once the piece is in place?
• Does anything need moving or dismantling first?

3. Include wall attachment in the discussion

Send a photo of the proposed position and ask the provider to assess the wall and suitable fixings. A photo alone does not establish what is behind the surface. If you rent, agree any required drilling with the owner before the visit. Do not simply omit a required fixing because permission or suitable hardware is missing; resolve that before the furniture is put into use.

4. Confirm what the assembly quote includes

• Which products and how many of each?
• Does the price include required wall attachment and suitable fixings?
• Is dismantling or moving existing furniture included?
• Who handles packaging and old furniture?
• What happens if parts are missing or the job cannot be finished?

Ask for a proposed arrival window after the delivery date is confirmed. If several items are being assembled, choose an order so you know which room needs to be clear first.
